IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A SWINE FLU VACCINATION PLEASE TELEPHONE THE SURGERY TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT.
WHO IS BEING OFFERED THE SWINE FLU VACCINATION?
The H1N1 vaccine is being offered to patients who are most likely to become ill if they catch swine flu. These people are in the following groups
Children aged six months to five years
Pregnant Women at any stage of pregnancy
Adults and children over six months of age who normally receive the seasonal flu vaccine and are in the following clinical risk groups
- Chronic Lung Disease - including patients with asthma who are on inhaled steroids
- Chronic Heart Disease
- Chronic Renal Disease
- Chronic Liver Disease
- Diabetes
- Neurological Conditions (i.e. stroke, MS, diseases of the central nervous system)
- Reduced immune system - due to certain illness or medication
People who live in the same house as someone whose immune system is compromised by disease or treatment.
Please note NHS Tayside will be offering all children aged 6 months to 5 years the H1N1 vaccination. Children will be invited to attend a community swine flu clinic. Information will be sent to parents over the coming weeks.
