Health Centre Opening Times
- Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm
- Saturday Closed
- Sunday Closed
Consultations are by appointment only. Telephone 01382
580264 and ask for an appointment with the doctor or nurse.
We expect to offer you an appointment within 24 hours.

If you wish to see a particular doctor you may have to wait longer.
URGENT REQUESTS WILL ALWAYS BE SEEN ON THE SAME DAY.
We try our best to keep to allocated times – please try to
do the same and arrive on time. If you cannot keep your appointment,
please let us know so that it can be used for someone else.
If you have not been to the surgery for three years (or one year
for those over 75) you can request a check up appointment if you
wish.
ONE APPOINTMENT IS FOR ONE PATIENT ONLY
TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS
If you need to speak to a doctor or nurse for advice over
the telephone but the doctor is not immediately available, the receptionist
will take your details and the doctor or nurse will return your
call.
HOME VISITS
Home visits are for those who are housebound or unable
to attend the surgery as a result of their condition. If at all
possible, please come to the surgery rather than requesting a home
visit. We can see several patients in the surgery in the time that
it takes to do one home visit. If you feel that a home visit is
necessary, please try to telephone before 10:00am so that we can
plan the visits as efficiently as possible. The reception staff
are trained to ask questions regarding your symptoms. This is fully
confidential and helps the doctor assess the priority of the calls.
WHEN THE SURGERY IS CLOSED
A doctor is always on call to deal with emergencies. Our
surgery is part of NHS24, and out of hours cover is now the responsibility
of NHS Tayside. When the surgery is closed telephone 01382
580264. You will hear a recorded message that will tell
you how to contact the EMERGENCY SERVICE (please
have a pen and paper ready). Your call will be taken by an experienced,
trained call handler who will determine the help you require. Once
your details have been taken the call handler will transfer you
to a trained nurse who may give you advice, arrange emergency services,
or arrange for you to see a doctor. Further advice and information
can also be obtained from NHS24 on telephone number 08454
24 24 24 or web address www.nhs24.com. THIS IS
FOR EMERGENCY TREATMENT ONLY. ALL TELEPHONE CALLS RECEIVED BY NHS
24 ARE RECORDED.
NEW PATIENTS
When registering, please bring your NHS registration card with you.
If you do not have a medical card the receptionist will ask you
to complete a registration form.
Following registration with the practice, it may take some time
for you records to arrive. To ensure continuity of care, you are
invited for a simple health check by our practice nurse, at which
time we would ask you to provide us with details of your past medical
history and any medication you are taking.
NON-NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE SERVICES
Certain services to our patients are not available on the
National Health Service and you may be asked to pay a fee. These
services include: private certificates, insurance claims, holiday
cancellation certificates, and some medical examinations. We are
happy to perform most services of this sort, and the receptionists
will advise you when a fee is payable in line with current British
Medical Association guidelines. Please ask at reception for details
of these arrangements.
